We loved seeing so many families come out for our Zoey & Sassafras Title I Parent and Family Science Night last night. From hands-on experiments to curious minds at work, it was a night full of discovery, laughter, and learning together!
A huge THANK YOU to our incredible community partners—MD Coastal Bays, The Judy Center, and the University of Maryland Extension Service—for helping make this event so special for our students and families.
We also had a fun surprise guest appearance from WCPS Science Coordinator, Mrs. Jenn Sills, and her son, who introduced everyone to Apollo the bearded dragon 🦎—definitely a crowd favorite!
And we can’t forget Gregory May and his Silly Science Circus show—everyone absolutely loved the energy, humor, and interactive fun he brought to the night! 🎪🔬

We’re proud to celebrate our newest round of Positive Office Referrals, highlighting our Hilltop Habit of the Month: Perseverance.
Perseverance at SHES looks like:
Sticking with a task, even when it’s challenging
Trying again after making a mistake
Showing a growth mindset and believing “I can do this!”
Putting forth effort and not giving up
Encouraging others to keep going
These students were recognized for pushing through obstacles, staying focused, and giving their best effort—even when things weren’t easy. That kind of determination is what helps our Eagles grow stronger every day!
We are so proud of our students for showing grit and resilience. Keep pushing forward, SHES—you’ve got this!
