We’re excited to share the beginning of our SHES School Community Garden! Phase 1 is officially underway, with our amazing Judy Center and Title I staff hard at work planting a variety of fresh vegetables including tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage, kale, kohlrabi, squash, lettuce, and peppers.
This project is truly a community effort, and we are so grateful for the incredible support that made it possible:
💚 MD Coastal Bays for generously donating our raised garden beds
💚 Worcester County Health Department’s Cooking Up Health initiative for their support and grant resources
💚 Maryland Forestry Service for their partnership
💚 Worcester Technical High School’s Agriculture Program for donating many of the plants we’re growing...check out the pic of our first mini-harvest of two cherry tomatoes
We can’t wait to watch our garden grow and provide hands-on learning experiences for our students while promoting healthy habits and environmental stewardship.
